Chris Johnson is a digital multimedia artist from Columbia, SC. His interest in experimental music and home recording techniques during the 2000s led to collegiate studies in music composition, recording and performance. He played in bands, performed with ensembles and composed scores for independent films throughout college and graduate school.

Chris began work as a sound engineer in the 2010s, gaining ample experience with multimedia technologies. in 2019 he founded Teleos Modular, building and selling audio and video synthesizers to fund a home studio equipped with synths, effect pedals and video production equipment.

In his creative work, Chris explores wrinkles in time and memory, smudging the line between truth and fiction and questioning cause and effect with creative sequencing and fragmented timelines. Contrast, texture and detail define his style - meticulously engineered soundscapes punctured by dramatic transitions accompany vibrant colors, morphing structures and glitchy textures set against dark backgrounds.

Chris is a media technology specialist and dance accompanist at Columbia College and creates live visuals for events around Columbia.
